Grandmother just had this severe pain/sensation?? What could this be?

Good Morning All,

Just want to say that I am a new meraber :)

About 30 minutes ago, my 88 year old grandmother woke up with a terrible painful sensation: it started in her lower jaw (she says around her molar) and it spread all throughout the right side of her body - it only lasted for a few minutes.

She told me she has had this before (this is the 4th time); it comes and goes...

She is taking 20 mg of Prednisone for a couple of months and she has been complaining about mouth pain (she has a nasty sore under the right side of her tongue).

Any thoughts??
 
Could very well be a heart attack. Women have different symtoms from men and jaw pain is one.
 
Jaw pain without any other symptoms can be a sign of a heart attack. My hubby had this. Please get your grnadmother to the ER and get her checked out.
 
yeah I would agree with the others the emergency room is appropriate and the net says prednisone can have a long list of side effects including heart attacks and infection.
