hi everyone,
I am just wondering if anyone can help me understand what to expect here. My grandma, who I absolutely love and adore, is 82 and going to have to have her first back surgery in January. She has been in an extreme amount of pain over the past couple of months. She is a very active person and has had back problems for a long time but apparently her disks (which were deteriorating) have recently shifted compressing her spine, which is the cause for her pain. Her doc, who she has seen for a long time, told her that her only option is surgery. I am wondering how long she will be in the hospital (if everything goes well), and if she will be able to get around her home on her own. Our family will be helping her but I am wondering if she can even be left alone at all or if someone will need to assist her with everything. I am trying to be proactive and prepare ahead because I want her to have everything she neeRAB so any info would be nice
