Graffitianywhere

OK, I am about to throw my hands up in the air and literally give up. After reading here, I have downloaded Graffitianywhere. I enabled the software. I then go to Memo to write a memo and nothing, nada, zip, nothing....I don't get what I am doing wrong or not doing. I have a T3. Any ideas?

I used Graffiti Anywhere on my old Tungsten T. However, I am not using it with my T3 because the T3 already allows you to write on the screen.

One thing I remember about the program is that you have to hold the Calendar button down for a couple of seconds before you can write on the screen. If I remember right, there is also an option which automatically disables Graffiti Anywhere after a specified amount of idle time. If you don't want the time out, you will have to disable that option.

Agreed - on the T3 - just press the wiggly line button on the menu system at the bottom to toggle the built in grafitti anywhere option

I don't think the built-in 'graffiti anywhere' on the T3 is as good as Graffiti Anywhere. I particularly find that when I'm filling in, for example, a page with places for different fields; with the built-in ga, if I tap on the screen to do, say, a full-stop, then the cursor jumps to where I tap, whereas with GF I never have this problem. I can't explain what makes this difference, but for me it effects the usability very much.

I always thought Graffitianywhere or Graffiti2 literally meant that you can write anywhere on the screen, not just the graffiti area. This appears to be not the case. I have gone into Graffiti2 and did everything I was supposed to do. Do I have expectations that are completely unrealistic or am I doing something wrong or skipping a step?

Hello Carol,

Have you tapped the squiggle line at the very bottom of the screen? It's next to the "bluetooth" on/off select. If you tap the squiggle so it is "highlighted" you should be able to write anywhere on the screen. Of course - nothing will appear unless you are in an application which accepts input.

Once it is activated - if you enter a letter without a program activated, it will search for the "first" program on that screen that begins with that letter.

G2 (2v.5.2P) which is loaded on the T3 is the Lite version of CTC's Corp's "JOT" program. The full version is "JOT" version 2.1. I have used it for almost 7 years on as many Palm's. It cost extra, but I still love it. It has many features that G2's Jot "Lite" doesn't have like thicker ink, and a "mode mark" at top of screen to assist you in judging where the magical invisible vertical line is for making capital letters. Anyway it really make writing easier and eliminates the need for using the the beginning and ending punctuation mark strokes with, not all, but many of the special characters.
