Graffiti - Art or Vandalism?

What is your opinion on Graffiti?? Do you believe it is an art form or just a nuisance to society?? Looking at contemporary artists such as Banksy do you believe his Guerrilla Art form is just a pain or is he really making a statement and opening our view points?
 
it is art as long as they have the right to paint on the building/ object. you can't just go around painting things that are not yours. but hey if you want to graffiti style paint your house to reflect your views i say more power to you.
 
I agree, both.

I know people who have warehouses down town that just fill the place with their art. And a lot of people pay to have it done on the walls of their body shops or other business centers.

I mean, no doubt its art, no matter where it is done. Well, for the most part. There are always those gangstas how just write crappy looking letters and signs on random places. However, either way, when its done on property that doesn't belong to you, its vandalism, period.
