Graffiti 1

Back to the old issue.
Is there a working add on letting me use Graffiti 1 on my T5? After several years with Graffiti 2 I still miss the first one.

I don't recall if any of the NVFS Palm's will allow you to replace G2 with G1. I use TealScript by TealPoint Software - to get the fell of G1. And I refuse to buy anything with a Xerox Label on it because of the stupid lawsuit that they brought against Palm claiming "copywrite" on G1.

Yes, you can put Graffiti 1 on a TX, the big snag is it breaks anything that puts a box on the screen for you to enter text in, such as web pages in Blazer. Using G2, if you enter more text that the box will hold, it pops up a text entry page, but if you try it with G1 then as soon as you fill the text box the TX crashes and resets itself.

It took me ages to find out that it was G1 that was causing all the blasted resets!! It's extra annoying cos I'm really coming to hate G2, with all its idiocies and general poor letter recognition...

bryanb,

I can only say that I've been running Graffiti 1 on my T5 ever since I first bought it and have not experienced the problem you describe.

Thanks guys.
I followed NickGB's advice and IT WORKS!!! I have not tested web pages in Blazer yet but I will and I will post the results.

NickGB,
Can your T5 see SD cards bigger then 2GB?

The answer to Bryanb.

No problems with Blazer and Grafiti 1 except when loading big pages. My T5 runs out of memory or hangs so I have to make soft reset to go on.

Having got my TX out and running again, I did indeed try installing Graffiti 1 again, and I'm getting the same problem I did before - as soon as I fill a text entry box (eg. for a Google search) the TX crashes and soft-resets itself.

Of course, using Graffiti 2, when you fill a text box it switches to a full screen for text entry.

Oh, and just to be thorough, I backed-up my TX and did a hard-reset, then installed Graffiti 1 onto a clean device - and it STILL reset itself when I filled a text entry box. Sigh. So it doesn't appear to be anything as simple as a conflict with something else I installed.

Then I did a restore and discovered that Backup-Buddy doesn't save your Favourites, so I've just had to rebuild those manually. Double-sigh!

Oh, and I have checked that I do indeed appear to have the correct versions of Graffiti 1, the files are dated 10/08/2006 (that's 10th Aug) and I can't find newer ones. Ho hum...
