I am planning on attending graduate school in the near future, and I am beginning to search for my options. I am currently in an environmental health major. After a lot of thought, I have decided that I do NOT want to pursue medical school, although health sciences interest me a great deal.
My concern with medical school is that it will cost a lot of money and take upwards of ten years, and I have other priorities (getting a job in the near future, starting a family) that I would want to attend to that medical school would not allow me to accomplish. However, if it is somehow possible to enter these fields in a shorter-term medical school (around 4 years), I would try that. Of the following categories listed below, are any of those subjects available in a non-medical school or 4-year medical program? (By 4 year program, I mean that there is no residency, internship, and/or fellowship required).
Genetics
Toxicology
Medical Research
Disease Research
Pathology
Cancer Biology
Epidemiology
