So i just got the update for google maps and for some reason it is only accurate to 2700 meters. So i deselected use wireless services to find my location and kept GPS and whenever i do menu>location it says waiting for location...... your current Location is temporarly unavalible. But with my brothers g1 it finds it just fine. I already tryed uninstalling the new google maps and reseting my phone.
???????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ????????????????

Try turning off the phone , pull the battery out for 3 minutes . Put it back in and reboot . To use the nav , the gps has to be on and with a clear view of the sky . Gps won't find you inside .

When you're in Google Maps, is the GPS icon (looks like a black satellite dish with green lines coming out of it) displayed at the top in the notification bar? Is it flashing or on constantly?

That means your GPS hasn't got a lock on the satellites yet.

Some tips:

1) GPS don't work very well at all indoors, and nead a clear view to at least 4 GPS satellites (which could be anywhere in the Sky) to get a lock. So - try using Google Maps outside, with no tall buildings around. The GPS icon should stop flashing at some point within that 15 minutes. Probably within a few minutes.

2) If the GPS hasn't had a lock for some time (more than a week or two) for at least 15 minutes, then it's almanac data may be out of date. The almanac data is the information the GPS needs to know about the exact positions of all of the GPS satellites and it downloads them from the satellites when it has a lock. So, once it has a lock, let it keep its lock for 15 minutes. Next time you try to get a lock it'll be a lot faster.

Try those, and see how it goes.
