got the word from the shop

well got the call from the shop i put my intruder in the shop and they said the rectifier regulator was bad. they want to charge me 300$ to change it that sound a little steep to me i can pick one up for like 135 new and i looks like its real easy to change. i think im just gonna change it my self what do yall think?

well it took about five minutes to get it off sure as hell not worth 120$ of labor at the shop. just have to wait for the new one to come in. Do rectifier regulator go bad often?? i sure hope this fixes it.:fight1:
 
Not sure if you will get this. I had some serious electrical issues with my 1500 last year. I was going to replace the rectifier. Before dropping the cash, I picked up some contact cleaner and dilectric grease. I cleaned the hell ot of the connections on the rectifier, then packed it with the grease. Haven't had a problem since (looks for large piece of wood to knock on) You should have seen the grime that came out of that connector.
