I bought a 1999 Honda CRV LX (with 135500 miles) from a new/used Toyota Dealer, for $4285 dollars + taxes, license, title etc. (Total = $4788 dollars)on 04/09/2009. In 7 days the car turned out to be a total crap, with Engine almost dead. It needed a repair for more than $4000 to change valves and major engine parts. In exact 7 days, on 04/17/2009, I returned to the dealer, and told them I cannot take this car back as it is a total Rip-off. But, they argued that its a "As-Is" and will give less value to the car, if I do a trade-in. I retaliated and said it is just 7 days, I bought the car. After much arguing, they finally agreed to give only $2500 dollars. RIDICULOUS !!! That also as a Trade-In !!! Can you please help me out getting the difference amount of $1500 back, in any way??????? Is There a way out ???
For a student like me, it matters a huge lot !!! For the time being, I have disputed one of my credit card payments to the dealer, of the sum of $1000 dollars. They also treated me rudely when I was there at the dealer on the second visit. Also, is this disputing of credit card will put me in a legally insecure position???
