or a scantron.

It's my first year of community college. I had my first test in physchology and I studied the review for hours and thought I was ready for the test. Well I get there on Monday and completely forgot a pencil and asked if anyone had an extra one..nobody did. Then I noticed that everyone had their own scantrons. The girl next to me said that there is a vending machine with scantrons that you have to use for each test. I had NO IDEA that we had to buy our own scantrons, in high school out teachers provided them for us. My phychology teacher never said anything about needing your own scantron (she probably figured everyone had already taken a college test before.)

So I went up to her, asked what kind of scantron to get then left class. I had NO money with me so I couldn't get a damn scantron :-(. So I just went home and got a zero on the test. I sobbed like a baby the whole way home, I'm pathetic.

So should I even bother telling her that I didn't know and ask if I can make it up? or are make up tests not allowed in college?
My friend said that I should tell her I had a family emergency haha. I just don't know what to do. Should I just not say anything to my teacher and live with that damn zero? :(
and it's going to be embarassing when i go to that class tomorrow and they're thinking "she said she was going to get a scantron and never came back.." ugh. I feel like an idiot.
Thanks everyone.

and to the ones who said it was written in the syllabus or that she would have told us...NO. It was NOT in the syllabus and I'm positive she didn't say anything about it.
