Got A Question About Sex?

Are condoms truly effective in preventing STD's and pregnancy? I heard from somewhere that condoms were only 86% effective! But even if its 86%, is that still a good number? Will sex still feel good with a condom? Are there any other methods in preventing pregnancy and STDs? And dont tell me on waiting until marriage! Im not going to get married for another 10-12 years and Im not waiting that long! And thanks for the help in advance!
really appreciate it! BTW, im 18 and going to be a freshman in college

James L, read the directions on the box and follow the suggestions. Any % is better than risking the ill results of no condoms. At 18 you must know something about self prevention for you and your partner. Don't let any of the college peers tell you anything different about using condoms compared to naked sex.Think before you act, then go for it.

it's actually 98% and the 2% is from improper use.
hoever, there are some conditions, like gental herpes which may be in/on the surrounding area. in which case a condom only protects the penis. there are 'female' condoms which are larger in area around the mons to protect in this case, butit's still not a good idea to be having sex during an outbreak.
