...What would this be? Today I got into my mailbox, and pulled out a plain envelope thats was hand delivered (no stamp) to my mailbox. Inside, was a letter with the dept. of health and environment stating that "This is an Urgent health matter that demands your immediate attention" and gives me a contact number below. A disease intervention specialist.

Somehow this just seems really really fishy. The envelope is smaller, so the paper is folded up, and then folded in half. The envelope just has my name on it. And the letter is obviously coppied, and then they just penciled in my name and the date.

Anyone have this happen to them? I know nothing could be wrong with me so what in the world could it be.
I also went to their website, and can't seem to find a listing of the guy that wants me to contact him. I've searched and searched and theres no record of him on their website.
It's not anthrax morons. Stop being little children.

call your local dept of health, I'm sure they will tell you it's a fraud letter & if you call the number listed on the letter, you'll have a tremendous phone bill, as the number you are calling is probably a foreign country that charges thousands of dollars per minute.

Good ole home grown anthrax.
No pesticides or toxic fertilizers either. ;D

The letter is very fishy. I'd bet my life that it's illegitimate or some sort of scam.

Sounds like someone is messing with you. If I were you I would report this to the health department. If the letter is real they will tell you. If it is fake go to the police and let them track the phone number. I'm pretty sure that pretending to be with the government is illegal.

Yes contacting your local Dept of Health would be the avenue to follow on this one. Especially since the plain white envelope is not how they conduct business. However when their is a health concern maybe even a sexually transmitted disease they contact you to keep the disease from being spread without your knowledge. This happens when someone has or has had a sexually transmitted disease and you may have been named as one of the partners. Contact you health department.
