"Gordon's Alive!" A remake of the camp classic is coming?!?!?

Just seen that Sam Worthington is under consideration for the role of Flash Gordon in a remake of 1980's "so-bad-it's good" film. I never even knew it was planned to be remade to be honest. Have to say, the guy is on a winning streak at the moment it would seem. BTW whatever became of Sam Jones and Melody Anderson? Anyone know?

What's your thoughts on this?
 
I like Sam Worthington and i think he has alot of ability. And yes he certainly has been offered/chosen some incrediable films to star in over the next few years. As for Flash Gordon, i really don't understand the interest in the character or story. I don't think it should be remade.
