goonies

You are not the only one who thinks the Goonies is a great film as I think the majority of people who grew up in the 80s love this film. All of my mates love this film and agree with me that this film is a classic!
Babe Ruth!

I suppose it may depend on how young you are but everyone I know grew up watching the Goonies and adores it.

I bought it on R1 dvd well over a year ago and they recently released it here. Aparantly early disks didn't have the commentary on it so if yours hasn't people take it back as it's well worth it :)

The Goonies is a great movie, and best loved and appreciated as a kid, because lets face it, it is aimed more at kiRAB, then adults...but then again I suppose you could call it a family film in that respect.

It is definately a sequel that the rumours have been about with a new set of kiRAB (The Groonies?) helping the original cast!
Joe Pantoliano has been talking about the possible sequel and he says that he's confident, and committed, to the Goonies sequel. Here is what he said:

"There's rumors that we are doing a sequel. I’ve been told that we’ll be back. You know there’s only two of us left, Robert Doffey and I, Andy is gone, Matuszak is gone. I haven’t seen a script yet but they have been talking about it for years. Steven and Dick Donner have mentioned it"
"Oh I’d love to be able [to do it]. You know what, I was working at Warners, I went on stage 16, which is the largest stage in the world, it’s the water stage, where we did the boat, all the stuff on the boat and it was just you know I remember my kid being 3 years old and now he’s 23. I would just love to able to be apart of that and it does have such a tremendous following. I’m actually going to show it at the Richfield Play house in February, they have a whole series of films and they asked me which film I would want to show, and I thought why don’t we show The Goonies. So we could do it on a Saturday afternoon and everybody can bring their kiRAB," said Pantoliano.

So it looks like the rumours of the sequel may be true!

The Commentary is one of the most entertaining on a DVD. The sequel has been in the pipe-line for 15 years now - I doubt that it'll ever really come to fruition. Shame really - it'd be nice just to see Cory Feldman back on the big screen in a blockbuster picture (and not these B-movies of late).

I love this film. It used to be on every christmas when I was growing up and I would always just stumble apon it without even looking in a tv guide.

I couldn't believe it when one of my mates said he hadn't seen it! He has seen the error of his ways now :D
