Google Voice -- Who Uses It?

It does a lot more than that... I would get Google Voice (the one I've posted in here a couple of times already), set it up so that 2 of your myFaves numbers are the outgoing number (you'll get it after you set up Google Voice and make a call using it), and then your regular Google Voice number. It'll save you on minutes. As for SMS, it is its own thing. You can still receive SMS to the regular Messaging app, or you can receive it to Google Voice. They show up as different icons, and don't show up under the other app, meaning a GV SMS won't show up under Messaging, and vice versa. I hope that helps out. If you have any questions about GV, just shoot me a PM.

is there anyway when an incoming call is coming in you can tell if its via your gv # or t-mobile #?

and i thought about lowering my mins plan since i have unlimited mins with gv, but im unsure of losing my promotional plan which is 1000mins free n/w myfaves for 39.99

especially seeing how the plans they have now are only with the more plus and more plans or whatever

Love Google Voice... I use it for voicemail and the occasional long distance call. My wife uses it exclusively for voicemail and hasn't had any complaints at all.

Awesome guys!! Thanks for all of the wonderful feedback. I am excited to start using Google Voice and uncorking its potential.

Hopefully the Voicemail Transcriptions have become more accurate since the first time I played around with GV (I know this depends a lot on your caller and the clarity and speed of their voice message)

I signed up for Google Voice a few days ago, and now I don't get any voicemails on my N1. and i can only see n listen to them by looking in my email. How can I get it back to normal?

I'll try logging into it now n messing around.

nvm

I use it for voice mail only... I have unlimited minutes and texts so that's not a concern of mine. I've often considered giving out my GV number as my main line for business purposes but I haven't as of yet. Question, I haven't explored this but I'd imagine that you can "turn off" GV at will, right? So people with your carrier number can still call you but those with only your GV number will go to VM.

Thanks for this thread. Trying GV today and will see how it does. I do not use the min I have on my plan to begin with so I think I will use it for a VM for right now! You guys are great with all the info. Thanks!!!

Ok I got GV because of all the good post. Love it. I currently use it for VM but I see the potential for the second number, but I am nut sure if I want to use it for a "work" number or a "personal" number to give to family so they would never have to change if I change carriers.

But my question with this program is what happens if I call long distance. If I call Florida from Chicago. Do my friends in FL get a local # or do they see the GV# ???

Thanks!
