I'll do some tests this weekend with Android and see if it'll let me do some of this cool native stuff (it's all a big question mark as to what will work since it's a custom JVM). If it works properly (quite a few things need to line up to make it work correctly), then game on.
If you add id3 support that isn't all ****ed up, genre, and equalizer (with some presents like rock, vocals, etc...) I know I would be willing to help compensate you for your time. If you made a "donate" version.
if you fix this godawful music player, scythe, you'll have my undying gratitude.
...and a paypal donation.
here's a real pisser: you can tap on an artist or album from the playback screen and it briefly highlights the artist/album, but does it take you to that artist's/album's tracks? no, no it does not. precisely nothing happens.
I've notice there are quite a few UI issues with the music app. I have a G1, and don't use it for my mp3 listening (too lazy to carry an extra cable around), but from what I've seen it's pretty bad.
I'm use to iRiver interfaces, where things flow the way you'd expect.
First step is to see if I can get Android to accept some foreign libraries -- and if that happens then creating a usable interface is pretty easy. I'm more concerned if Android will let me use native libraries without hacking them to bits. Then of course there's whether or not all Android phones use the same type of audio driver or not.
