google chrome extension and setting question?

i want to delete a extension i installed, i know i need to click on the wrench and go to extension to delete it... but when i click on the wrench there is no label for extensions to click. Also by my wrench there is no down arrow to see all the things i can do under the wrench. How do i fix that and delete the extension.

Also whenever i click on a link on google search it opens a new tab for me for what i clicked on, how do i make it so it wont open a new tab??
