Google Calendar - Not Working?

Okay,

I just noticed that when I put a event in the calendar. The event does not give me a reminder 5 minutes prior to the event. I have the reminder SET to 5 minutes prior before the event starts. But it doesnt work for some reason?

Does anyone have suggestions? Also, I have noticed when I put my alarm clock on, it asks if I want to dismiss all? Does that mean that all of my reminders are disabled?

Thanks.

Well, I know that dismissing the alarm doesn't affect Calendar reminders, as I dismiss my alarm every morning, and continue to receive calendar stuff.

The only thing I can think of, (and this is stupid, I'm sure you checked it) is sometimes I set my reminders for a few days in advance, then when I go in to make another one, the default in the drop down continues to read "days" rather than minutes.... did you make sure the reminder is set for xx minutes, rather than days? ...

Like I said, real long shot there... are you getting emails on ANY of your reminders?

If anything, this lame answer will bump it in case anyone else had this prob. My reminders are working fine... bugging the crap out of me today, actually.

Works fine for me...sometimes an application form market place causes issue, after...sometime days later....I have root and backup so I just refresh and go about my day happy....to many times I spent hours trying uncover "WHY the @#@#$%" is this happening, now in a real short time, adding items from my SD card as I need them....

I had this issue with my 1st G1... had no idea what was causing it. I haven't had it on my current G1, though I haven't put anything new in the calendar for over 2 weeks now

I had one more quick question. Is there a way where I can have a alert sound + a status notification as a reminder? Because it only allows me to set up 1 or the other.

The Calendar is still not working.

I tried to put an event to the reminder. But it didn't remind me.

This is a stupid question, but when it asks 5 Minutes. That means 5 minutes before the event starts, correct?

Yes, when you say 5 minutes means it will notify you 5 minutes before the event starts...

... as for an Email notification as well as an alarm, wouldn't it be the same thing, since your email gives you audible notification? You just wont have differentiation between an email and the alarm, but it is still audible so you will know you need to see. The subject line of the email is your Calendar Event Title, so that should alert you just by pulling the notification down on the home screen.

I was having a problem where I would add events on my Google Calendar with an alarm for 10 minutes prior. I would then get an email with the alarm, but it did not alarm on my android phone - HTC Hero. When I changed my Google calendar alarm default from email to Popup (Calendar Settings --> Notifications), I now get an alarm/notification on my phone. And to take it back one step further, when I create an event on my Palm Desktop with an alarm and use Companion Link for Google to sync it, the alarm now comes through on my phone - with the Google Calendar default as Popup.
