Google Calendar and Android Calendar Not Syncing Properly!

Hey all, I desperately want to use my Google calendar with android! I have it setup and every time I make a change to my Google calendar on some other computer my changes are overwritten by the android OS. =( I?ve tried turning the phone off, making my changes, and turning the phone back on and although it syncs up correctly initially, it eventually (~1-2 hrs) overwrites my Google calendar again. =(
Any ideas?!

Regards,

I just added an event on my calendar from the computer, and it synced down to my phone just as expected. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

yeah, google calender is like the only thing I haven't had issues with lol... although contacts and Gmail have been working flawlessly since RC30.. But I make changes and sync and the changes occur on my phone.. if I make changes on my phone and sync I see the changes on my computer.

It's weird that they take effect and then reverse themselves... Just don't have your calenders set to autosync... just sync it whenever you make changes.

It appears that there still is an issue in sync from Google Calendar -> Android. It appears that repeating events (even those that appear correctly in Google Calendar) do not get put down to the Android phone.

Not sure why it works sometimes.

Still trying to find a workaround, but none found so far.

If anyone knows of a workaround, please post!

this has been addressed in the cyanogen bug tracker. the bug generally only applies to cyan's roms but has been seen on others as well.\

to fix, delete all yearly events, birthdays etc. from your google calendar online. then on your phone, go into settings > app data > and clear the data from the calendar and calendar storage entries. then you may need to reboot then manually sync.

at this point if you're syncing again, you can re-add all yearly events and it should continue to work. this has been the generally accepted fix until a real code change is found.

The down-sync is working well for me onto my Samsung Galaxy S, but items entered on this device do not show on Google Calendar when view on a PC browser. Is a fix available for this?

Found the answer on another thread.

???????????? ????????????I imagine it's because you're not adding them to your Google Calendar, but you're only adding them to My Calender (default).

Go to the Calendar app on your phone, Menu -> Create -> enter an event title, date/time, then where it says Calendar with "My calendar" in blue below it, tap that line, select your Google account on that screen.

If you don't do that it will only appear on your phone (My Calendar).

If your google account isn't listed, go to Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Add account, and add your Google account.

I really wish there was a way to make the Google calendar the default calendar to add stuff to, but it defaults to My Calendar which only exists on the phone. ????????

Thank you Extorian.

Having a similar problem on Samsung Galaxy S (Telus Fascinate). Not only is there no upsync from My Calendar to Google Calendar but the phone defaults for .ics invitations. So when I download an ics invitation it can only go into My Calendar and it can NEVER appear in google calendar. What gives?

I am discovering that Syncing is probably one of the least developed features of this phone compared with an iphone. Very frustrating.

I am having the same problem with the AT&T Aria - no up-sync when I edit an event originally the result of an invitation on the Aria. I've repeatedly refreshed both the calendar on the phone and the online google calendar... the edits do not appear online even though they are clearly accepted on the phone! VERY minor-league when one considers that changing the time/date of a meeting is a basic function and should be in any rudimentary test suite. This has cost me some embarrassment (and others much lost time) when I've missed a meeting - even ones I'm hosting, and I am seriously considering dropping Android because of the evident lack of basic test procedures before moving the software into production. Something is VERY wrong in the Android testing world!
