Google Android G1 - Messages wont make noise?

is your phone on vibrate if not, hit menu settings>sound and display. make sure silent mode is not checked.>notification ringtone> pick one!
there you go if you had it on silent mode just uncheck it and you should be fine.

Whenever i recieve a text now, i dont recieve a message noise. I have checked all the settings and it should, and did. Any ideas?
