So it's basically American Dad on the other side of the political spectrum: a liberal family with a skeptical conservative daughter.

Honestly? I've already seen tons of liberal stereotypes on KOTH, but I'm still looking forward to this. Judge stuff is usually great. The only problem is, it's going to be an animated show on ABC. The last one of those was Clerks. It'll bomb no matter how good (or Goode) it is.
 
Premise-wise, this sounds like the flip side of American Dad.

My one beef: the adopted white South African son sounds like a one-joke character. They have to keep explaining that they really wanted a black kid? How long can that stay fresh? (Of course, I'm admittedly biased since I've never been fond of the shtick of white characters who believe they are black or pretend to be black.)

The other major concern I have for this show is that it's going to be on ABC. Except for FOX, none of the major broadcasts have a good track record with prime-time animated shows. Given that Mike Judge is the creator, I wonder why this show isn't airing on FOX.
 
It does seem to be in some ways as Mike Judge's version of American Dad. I will watch it but I have to say ABC? That was not a smart choice.
 
What's with most of the designs now-a-days in cartoons and being so exact and structure-needy. This and "Sit Down, Shut Up" have really unpleasant art styles.

That doesn't mean I'm turned off by both shows (But to be honest, I've never liked Mike Judge's work/humor anyway), but it's just like, you know.

Why can't someone design a smoothed down, lean, appealing character for a 14+ rated show. Slacker Cats is probably the closest recent-toon that managed to do that.
 
Hey,if it keeps me enterained without making me turn the channel and my kids won't become swearing juvies from watching it,I'll more likely then not watch it at some point.
 
The South African kid and vegan dog do seem very MacFarlane-influenced.

Well, now all we need is a cartoon about a family of wacky moderates. And that family should include a mutant banana-child and a character from a novel who became real.
