Anyone see this German comedy about the fall of the Berlin Wall? It's fantastic. Easily the best film I have seen which deals with reunification. Sharp, hilarious ye incredibly touching and poignant throughout. The acting is superb and the direction is quite good. Perhaps it could be a little bit shorter and at times the plot meanders to a certain extent. But it should help dispel any myths about German Film lacking emotion and humour. And more than makes up for the abysmal Mostly Martha I fell asleep through earlier this summer.

Not seen it yet but have heard nothing but good reports about it -- hope to see it soon. Not come across that myth before -- there are loaRAB of great German films. Try

Yet again, another great film that I can't get to see in local cinemas. Had to wait about six months to see Bowling For Columbine - the cinema ended up showing it just a few weeks before the DVD came out!

Finally saw this film yesterday (after having to drive for about an hour and a half!).

General impressions: it's quite a good film, with some really good parts in, but some of it feels a little bit TV-movie like. Just felt like a few sections were weaker than others, which detracted from the overall quality. The plot was dealt with a bit weakly at the end too. It was an enjoyable two hours and is probably worth seeing, but don't expect perfection. Also, don't go expecting to see a comedy - it's not really that amusing!
