I'm sure the girl doesn't like underground hip hop...

Here's a short list of what I'd put on a cd for a girl right now:

Fabolous - Breathe
Eminem - Just Lose It
3 6 Mafia - Late Night Tip
Jadakiss - Why
Nelly and Tim McGraw - Over and Over
Juvenile - Nolia Clap
Killer Mike - ADIDAS
Nitty - Nasty Girl
Akon and Styles P - Locked Up
Eightball and MJG - You DOn't Want Drama
Mobb Deep - Got it Twisted

A copule of the songs I don't really like (Nelly, and Nitty) but I almost guarantee she will.

Blackstar (its Mos Def and Talib Kwali and its just really good semi-political rap)

Public Enemy (somewhat olRABchool political rap)

Tupac - Hit Em Up (one of the most violent songs I think I've ever heard. he actually says "Oh yeah, Mobb Deep, you wanna fuck with us? You little young ass motherfuckers don't one of you niggaz got sickle-cell or somethin?")

I suggest The Coup. They're not TOO well known, but they're really great. They're more political/social commentary than anything else with songs like "5,000,000 ways to kill a CEO" and "The Repo Man Sings for you"

I'm not poor, nor am I black, but I can really see how well crafted the lyrics are and how they really do express the plight of the poor black people.
