Good quality, durable phone

I am looking for a good replacement phone as I am still in search of that perfect phone for me. My initial phone weas the Nokia 6233 which I disliked due to the cheap feel and dirty plastic look it always had. Reception and sound quality weren't that great either, although its stereo speakers were good. Same goes for the RAZR v3i that I replaced it with. The buttons are hard to push, I am always scared of bending it because it is flexible, and it is too thin to hold properly and has very poor voice quality. The metal feel eventually got slimy and oily.

Here are my stipulations:

1. Nothing over $300. Cheaper the better.

2. Durable and feels nice. It must feel nice and not feel slimy. This is my biggest pet peeve. I think the sony-ericsson phones are made of the plastic that digital cameras have? I like that kind. Shiny cheap plastic, like cheap motorolas or the nokia 6233 and similar, however, are bad. Soft rubber is also bad.

3. Loud and clear earpiece. Good microphone for picking up voices. Good reception. The first things people should look for in a phone, but usually end up forgetting.

4. Good battery life.

5. Buttons must be easy to push and responsive.

I generally don't like Nokia phones or motorola phones from past experience. I am currently looking into samsung and sony ericsson and maybe LG. Samsung seems to only have a handful of candy bar phones and they are razor thin, which I don't like. Any suggestions or other brands that I haven't heard of or am too wary to check out would be appreciated.
