You mimic, you follow, you see how I see,
I’m never without you nor you without me.
Though when I speak and wait for reply,
I hear nothing but silence no matter how hard I try.
The daylight’s what keeps you in sight by my side,
So when the night blankets under it you hide.
Your footsteps are silent and complexion black,
Your presence unknown so dare I look back?
A friend, a reflection, a silent call,
Yet you never catch me, you fall when I fall.
