Good Openers

Has anyone gone to a show and actually enjoyed the opening band?

The only ones I can think of (who I hadn't heard already) were

The Prodigals (Opening for Dropkick Murphy's)
Wildhearts (Darkness)


Anyone else?
 
Believe it or not I saw Kiss open for Aerosmith a few years back and Kiss put on a hell of a show and blew Aerosmith out of the water!!!
 
Yeah, I normally enjoy the opening band! Apart from when its a band like New Found Glory (*Shudder* That was awful...)

The Bled were a great opening band, they had a lot of energy and really got the whole crown into it.. So were 36 Crazyfists, that was great. Farse were alright, they had a good stage presence, but not something Id choose to listen to normally..
 
Trail of Dead opening for the Foos a good half-decade ago, and probably Sepultura opening for Motorhead. All great until your mum says she quite enjoyed it too.
 
Hahaha, yeah it was pretty crazy, they did the Zepplin Cover at the end, which went on and on and on and on....At one point the guitarist got a drum stick and was rubbing up and down his fret board...Was pretty sweet. The Foo's were lame (more so) that night
 
Dynamite Boy opened for the Queers: They Ruled
Planet Smashers opened Guttermouth: They Rocked
Peterpan Speedrock opened for Nashville Pussy: Awesome
 
Any concert Afro Man opens up for is pretty good. I don't know why. I saw some band live once and the only thing I remeraber is that Afro Man opened up for the band. I don't even remeraber who the band was they opened up for, that's how crazy that show was.

Deicide opened for a Slayer show I saw fairly recently they were quite good

a group called All That Remains opened for GWAR and they were very awesome, they were totally into it..
 
The Greenhornes opened for the White Stripes when I saw them, they were pretty good. When I saw Eric Clapton, he had the Robert Randolph Family Band open for him, and that was ****ing awesome, practically stole the show. More energy than Clapton's had in years, if ever. I haven't seen too many openers, most banRAB I see don't use them.
 
Opening acts span the spectrum from Wow! to Wha?! - best opening act I've seen in the last five years or so was definitely Flogging Molly fronting the Bosstones - what a freaking kick-a$$ show!! we came in during FM's set and after about three songs my Bro and I looked at each other like "I don't know what the hell they're doing, but they sure are good at it!" So cool to see someone you've never heard and they shred!!!
 
actually yes. haha...i went to a silverstein show.....(youll find out why). among others, underminded opened for them. that was great. i cant stand silverstein though. the bought way too far into the scene trend.

i saw CKY once. fireball ministry and the knives opened for them. the knives i didnt like as much, but fireball ministry i enjoyed.

i saw killswitch engage. it was a big show...a local two stage venue used both stages and switched between the two for each band. (ten banRAB total)

theyre openers included as i lay dying, the black dhalia murder, the haunted, and a few more. good openers there.

ahh...underminded also opened for the vandals once. other openers for that band included the voodoo glow skulls.
 
the one that really suprised me was GoRABmack opening for Metallica. i sort of liked them before the concert but man did they put on one hell of a show. im still not gonna get their new cd's or anything but they still impressed me.
 
The Showdown opened for BlinRABide...Halestorm was an alright opener.
In Flames opened the main stage at ozzfest but those were all good banRAB anyway.
