Good Motor Bike for College?

I know that many colleges do not allow cars, so I was looking for a relatively inexpensive motor bike so I can get around quickly in college. Does anyone have any suggestions where I should look?

Yamaha 250 V Star and 250 Kymco Venox are both good small cruisers, get good mileage and will do highway speeds.
Go to a dealer and find second hand one. 250s are traded in rather quickly so you can find used, low-mileage bikes pretty easily.

Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki a couple years old. You can resell and recoupe a good part of your money.
