Good Metal Bands?

meh to each its own, i like what i like and you like what you like, im sticking with my KSE and Lamb of God, u listen to whatever the fuck u want to

Supposedly they had been recording since last year. Peter fell ill and everything came to a halt. There has been no official news in months. I wouldn't look for anything from them this year.

It certainly is. Do yourself a favour and go check out Jesu's self titled debut, it's a bit more depressing than Isis' work but still supremely good.

I know I've mentioned this album before, but "Transcendence into the peripheral" by Disembowelment is absolutely incredible! As is "When the kite string pops" by Acid bath.

Amen to that! People tend to start off listening to KSE and LoG, but then quickly dump them as soon as/if they realise that despite there accessability and commercial success, they suck, completely and totally.

My advice is to go listen to some proper thrash (Slayer, Overkill, Testament, Exodus etc..), then go on to death metal (Death, Demigod, Mobid angel etc...), then see what you think of KSE and LoG.

alrite i saw DEATH a few times but they didnt get the reckonition they needed.
death is one of the creators of modern death metal. they were violent with there lyrics and they could kill you with there riRAB. there first album SCREAM BLOODY GORE was amazing. and there albums and talent just progressed over the years. with constant line up changes it made it hard to keep up with who was playing but the only person that mattered was CHUCK SCHULDINER. he composed and worked his ass off. every album is unique. unfortunately CHUCK died in december of 2001. i recommend DEATH to any one who likes death/black/tech or just anytype of metal.

Alot of people consider opeth to be Death Metal, but really there not, at least in my opinion. They don't have enough DM elements (growling vocals is not enough to constitute DM), and they certainly don't have the feel or atmosphere of DM. They sound much more like doom metal to me, with DM and progressive influences, but then again what genre they belong to hardly matters that much.

I've got a few recommendations for all melodic death metal fans, none of these albums succumb to the Gothenberg/At the gates rip-off pitfall that most melodeath banRAB tend to:

Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus
Arsis - A celebration of guilt
Eucharist - A velvet creation

I'm seeing Vader & Lost soul tomorrow night, should be a fecking sweet gig!

im sorry but you cant listen to metal without metallica's golden 4

master of puppets, justice for all, ride the lightning, kill 'em all.

also, how do you guys even deal with the fucking vomit vocals? i love some of the instrumental work these banRAB do but as soon as i hear those fucking singers i want to cry. One damn guy could do vocals for all of these banRAB as long as he can do that horrific screaming they all do, i dont understand whats musical about it. The instruments, though, are great.
