I've thought about that which is why I'm gonna open a poll on which OT logo should be used for the flag...

Anyways though, I don't live here, I just happened to land in the country a few days before the war broke out. I'm not saying people are armchair warriors because they're not in the situation while I am, but because people here are opinionated out of their ass with obviously little knowledge on the issue and more importantly, people fail to put what goes on here in perspective.

Misguided statements against one side simply continue the very bullshit reasons for conflicts like this all over the world
 
shit goes wrong in war. deal with it. soldiers in vietnam probably had no intentions of killing villagers, but things changed when the enemy was hiding in them. I would have probably done the same thing.

That would be nice if Israel attacked first.

Fact is, Hezballa kidnapped two Israeli citizens and launched rockets before Israel attacked. In fact, the rocket attacks have managed to hit at least 5 different Israeli cities and have killed several dozen people.

Those rockets aren't RPG's fired by some guy standing on a hill. They are fairly precise weapons.

If I saw a leaflet that said hey were bombing the fuck out of this place in the next few days I think I would take a trip.
 
There's a reason they don't work..I'm not sure what it is, but here's some guesses:
-corporate controlled media influencing people to support imperialistic policies
-excessive nationalism and illogical loyalties
-corporate controlled governments
-people that will continue to abuse whatever systems good people will try to put into place

So maybe thats too idealistic, but the question is, what the fuck are we doing on our asses in front of our computers while people are dying because people just like us think peace is too unrealistic.

What, you think that a (wo)man with their wife/husband and children dead or mutilated by Israel, (not to mention their whole fucking home destroyed) will walk away and then look at Israel and the USA that supports them and think "What wonderful people!"? Yeah right, those are the people that are going to become terrorists. And those terrorists are going to kill more civilians. So to take a leaf out of the Israeli book, the Israeli, (and USA in iraq) army are the ones that are killing the people; that will cause more future 9/11s.
I mean, what the fuck? "These guys may have been shot by Israel..", (may?) "...but they were killed by Hizbollah because Hizbollah are the ones that started it.". Yeah, like the Israelis aren't holding any fucking prisoners.
 
Because if you were some shit poor dirt-farmer (it's mostly the poor shia or sunni, i forget which, minority that supports hezbollah) you'd tell a terrorist to fuck off and eat a dick. Hezbollah provides so much to the poor community in Lebanon, and they are the military power in S. Lebanon. When Hezbollah asks you to put a rocket in your house, it's like the US Army asking you to do it. Do you think you could stop the US from doing anything they fucking wanted to do to your home?

The people being killed in these attacks have little to no choice in the role they play. In turn, their kids witness the devestation and helplessness of their parents and this is the start of radicalism. Most of the younger generation had never seen a war, Lebanon was becoming a good place to live (so I hear from Lebonese people I know). But now that's all changed. Everything they had built has been destroyed. When Isreal withdraws the Lebonese government will be even weaker than before, Hezbollah's ranks will swell along with their power in the Lebonese government (if elections are ever even held again).

There's no way Isreal is going to accomplish any of their goals, except bringing back their soldiers in a body-bag. If there's any chance of getting them back alive it's going to be through a prisoner exchange, exactly what the Palistinians and Lebonese wanted in the first place. All Isreal is doing is punishing a huge number of people in an attempt to turn them against Hezbollah and Hammas, but all it's doing is strenghtening both organizations. Just watch the protests that go on in the streets of Egypt, Lebanon, Palistine, and all over the Arab world.
