You have to remember that OT isn't the best place to voice disgust against the wholesale slaughter of women and children, because OT is the probably the most callous, hateful, crass forum on the entire internet. It's really full of the most vile, sick people I've ever had the displeasure of reading posts by. They're all so desensitized and seem to truly believe that war is a fun videogame and that all the Lebanese people are Hezbollah terrorist towelheads. When in fact, there's a large Christian/Catholic population and many Lebanese are quite westernized and educated.

I wish the shitheads who don't give a fuck about babies and children being blown to bits would get a fucking taste of reality in the form of having to be sent to war or something.
 
because I don't believe in bombing and destroying an entire country to wipe out a terrorist organization that consists of about 5,000 people. I find it disgusting that Israel can do this and the world will stand beside them.
 
Because Israel has been enduring attack after attack ever since the inception of their fucking country.

Every time they try appeasement and push for peace, the attacks against them only get worse. Innocent Israeli civilians die regardless of what Israel pushes for. This is one of the times that Israel has had enough.
Every time this happens, its the same thing.

Israel fights back
Arab countries beg for help and paint Israel as the bad guy
Arab countries refuse to police their own populace
attacks stop for a little while.
attacks start again citing Israel as the aggressor.
Israel fights back again

continue ad nauseum.

Hopefully Israel finishes the job this time.

I commend Israel for not being afraid to defend themselves. Fuck Hezbollah, they caused this and could easily stop the violence, but they prefer to keep getting blown up. Good job hezbollah.
 
First off, Israel's strikes have been very localized. You don't have to leave a city, you can go a mile or two away and be safe. I can walk two miles in about 20 minutes at a very comfortable pace.


1. Hezbollah holds more than 20 seats in the Lebanese government. The Lebanese government ignored a UN resolution requiring them to police terrorist forces and secure their own border.

2. Why should Israel give a shit about world opinion? The UN is an impotent organization. Israel has the backing they need to secure their own borders and get things done. If the UN won't do it, somebody needs to. As the US won't step in and neither will European countries...that kind leaves Israel on its own.

I love how you toss the term imperial around like Israel is some sort of empire. Israel is smaller than 90% of the states in the USA. They aren't seeking extra land. They've shown their desire for peace over and over and over, yet all they get in return is criticism and more attacks.
Israel has learned not to take the opinion of others seriously and for good reason. If they followed that opinion, they wouldn't exist today.

Hezbollah supposedly hiding amongs civilians is NOT an excuse to kill them all. If someone is holding people hostage in a bank, you don't blow the bank up? Why not? Because people will die unnecessarily. So we devise other ways of going about the operation. Even if Israel did "warn" the Lebanese with "pamphlets" where the FUCK do they expect them to go to? This shit pisses me off so much especially when people cry about anti-semitism when I go off about the state of Israel. I have nothing against the people of Israel, or Jews anywhere, but the government of Israel is full of lackeys of power interests from the US and is full of bloody, ruthless people.

I agree a country has a right to defend its borders, but to go about it in the manner that Israel does (attacking a UN building!!) is simply outrageous. This isn't a case of Israel vs. Lebanon, this is a case of Israel vs certain rebel factions within the country of Lebanon. I'm no fan of US foreign policy of the last 150 years, but when troops went looking for Pancho Villa in Mexico, they didn't errantly destroy Mexican towns.

All Israel is doing is exacerbating the situation further and further. If I were a youth in Southern Lebanon right now, I would be outraged enough to actually join Hezbollah and fight back.
