Good "Image" Phone

Well, my Nokia 8801 died and I'm just looking into what other phones are available. Any recommendations for phones that will attract attention and is not common (a la 8801)?

do you want something design-centered (maybe a Vertu?) or do you want something with a powerful feature set (Sharp 903)? Or maybe you want to try something with a bit of both (Sharp SX633a)?

Design is more important than features (as long as the phone is not ridiculously impractical to use). But I'm not looking to pay the few thousand dollars those phones sell for!

You could look at 7 series Nokias, they're more fashion oriented, but they also have some decent features to back them up.

Other than that, there really aren't THAT many fashion phones in the market that haven't been brought to providers in the US.

You could always just grab a motorola V80 to have until something you like comes out, they're really cheap now and imo, gorgeous phones.

You could also look at the SE W880, I think it's really ugly, but it'll be rare

EDIT: Check out the LG KE970 too

yeah i thought that too until i saw it in person and held it for the first time. Pictures don't do it justice which is good. I don't want it to become too common.

nokia higher end phones range 300-500 usually and they have both amazing features and style.

the older panasonic gd55-gd50 was interesting because it was so small, but i heard it had a few problems.

If you are just looking for image then buy whatever you think looks good. If you want it to function, then pick a carrier first based on where you will use the phone - where you live, work, travel, etc. Then buy the image phone.

I own a Nokia 8801 right now and have been looking for something else that looks "cool" and is unique because no one has it. I decided to buy a NEC N908 (I should get it next Tuesday the 13th). Even though it is only a touch screen, it looks like it will be a lot of fun to use and show off. It's also really tiny. It doesn't have the 850 band, though, so that could be a problem. Luckily 850 isn't in use anywhere near me, and I always have the 8801 as a backup should I go out of my area.

Of course I think the K790a is also an awesome looking "cool" phone that not many will have/know about. It has Xenon flash which is awesome in itself and it takes great pics, but I don't know about the thickness of it.

Why not just get another 8801? Bored with it?
