Good Grief

It's a Charlie Brown week. Sunday I had my neighbor's daughter cut my hair. (She is in school and she does a really nice job on her Mom who has the same haircut I always get.) Bad, bad, bad idea. I liked it until after I washed it and tried to style it. Totally uneven. And the worst part is it's way too short to fix. So I'll just have to wait a few months for it to grow out enough to fix.

Monday: Uneventful.

Tuesday: I went to a work meeting where all my concerns about the residents were shot down and poo-pooed (when I could get a word in edgewise) because, "That's just how they are. You're too new to know." Well, I do know that increased maladaptive beahviors can be a sign of something more serious going on. I also have to deal with people who are so painfully dense. My direct supervisor and I were talking about food and I said, "Oh, I wish I could still eat that." Which led to a conversation about how I can't have wheat. And she says, "But you can still have flour, right?" Uh... I didn't even try to explain how flour is made from wheat. I also found out that one of my favorite residents has been stealing from the house, other residents, and staff. So... we have to watch her with an eagle eye and lock EVERYTHING up. (Including paper towels and laundry soap.)

Then I find out that I can't get financing for a used car because, "while your credit is actually pretty good, there isn't much of it. If you could get a co-signer, we might be able to get you some financing." Well, I don't want to involve other people in my loan if I can help it. So, a car is out of the question for now.

After taking a shower, I go to blow dry my hair (if I don't, it starts to resemble medusa). I turn it on and the motor falls apart. I freak out and drop it which doesn't help matters.

Wednesday: I'm supposed to have a date with my bf, but I've had a nagging feeling that he just isn't very into me. So I text him (it's pretty much the only way we communicate). Turns out he isn't interested and he's sorry he didn't say so sooner. We broke up. But hey, can we still be friends? (I dunno, do you really want to be friends, or are you just saying that because you don't have the balls to cut ties entierly?)

It's only been half a week. I cringe to see what the other half will bring.

Sorry about your week being shitty so far. Sounds like you could use a stiff drink. Here's to hoping things start looking up.

Don't worry too much. Things always move around at times so new stuff can come around. It may not happen by next week, but it's all on the way.

Stick to your guns at work. You'll be there at the right time for someone.

I'm practically the same boat about the car situation. The only choice I have is to pay cash for something that hopefully will run decently, and that's going to take a little while at my current earning level. I hope that you find a solution, because I know what a bitch is is to be without a vehicle!

So you left the house one morning attempting to imitate a gorgon. As long as no one turned to stone or severed your head, no foul. Incidentally, when the dryer died and you freaked out, did you "drop" it hard?

Your ex may not be able to handle a clean break, but that's only because SOMETHING about you touched him and he wants to keep at least a smile on the memory. Either that, or he's an overly apologetic schmuck. Maybe both.

Here's to the approaching weekend!

I have not come up with a better solution than you have. I guess I'll just have to scrape up every penny I can manage until I have enough to buy something. When I dropped my hairdryer, I more kind of threw it at the floor and then unplugged it while making freaked out "eek" noises. Thank goodness I didn't smack my toes in the process.

i have the same problem with credit i had to get a co signer to buy a set of tires lol and i went to get a haircut one time and a lil hottie chick sits me down and out comes this old ass lady she totally butched my cut my girl laughed for like a month and what i found out was that all that stuff frustrating as it was all passed and my life went on so good luck and remember breath

Thanks for shitting on the carpet there, crippledick.

Kinda sorry I couldn't witness your fit. Methinks I'd have something to laugh at! Glad the toes are safe, at least.

Damn...if only life could spread that kinda stuff out a bit, eh? At least it didn't all happen in one day!

The only advice I can really give is relating to the car. Shop around a bit and find an older Honda or Toyota. Even back into the '80's. If you can have a mechanic friend help you out, you can usually find a car that might be old, but it's still in decent shape and of course runs well. Usually they'll be cheap too...anywhere from $100 to $800.

Anyways...hope things start getting better for you!

Well unless you look like this:

it could be worse
and bad things always come in 3's so the rest of the week should be okish.
