I have been keeping fish for about 15 years, and have become very interested in discus fish. I have a 90 gallon set up and almost ready for them, and am planning on getting a group of 8. My question is what is a good filter to have with discus? I know I must do at least a 50% water change a week, or better a few times a week, but I want to get a good filter for them, too. I was considering getting two Penguin 350B Power Filter's, which individually is good for up to a 75gal, and having one on each side of the tank.
Also, I have two parrot fish, one is about the size of a fist, in the tank and was hoping to keep the two parrots with all of the discus. The guy that owns my local fish store believes they should be fine because of the number of discus, and because parrot fish can't actually close their mouths (therefore bite) because of the way they are deformed, but I wanted more opinions. Thanks.
