Good films spoiled by one bad performance

Another vote for Keanu: "Constantine". I actually quite like him in other stuff he's done; he didn't seem out of place in The Matrix trilogy for example. In "Constantine" he can't even look interested when he's flirting with Rachel Weiss.

Hey come on, his performance wasn't bad. only the god awful 'cockney' accent - but isn't that one of the endearing things about the film?

Other than that I felt he really brought heart to the film, but maybe thats just my opinion....!

ah...not nice mr van dyke
i likes him i do :)

my nomination for awful acting in

is michelle pfeiffer ...a lovely looking woman but an awful (imo) actress

I would have given Mr Affleck credit for his role in Changing Lanes, but then on a rewatch, Mr Jackson steals the show.

Wild Things - Neve Campbell for being as lively as a corpse (and not getting her norks out) in the threesome ?

Nooooooooo!!!! :( I really love Cary Elwes, he's an under-rated actor, imho. Loved him in Glory and The Princess Bride especially.

Anyway, Andi McDowell has spoiled many fine films, Greencard, Groundhog Day (though Bill Murray and Stanly Tobolowsky sort of save that one by being totally brilliant), Four weddings, even Greystoke: the Legend of Tarzan, where she is dubbed by Glenn Close!

The other one for me is Tom Hanks in Philidelphia, it was just dreadful, though Antonio Banderas was almost as bad. I still can't belive he won an Oscar for that role....

Winona Ryder in anything. Especially Bram Stoker's Dracula and Alien Resurrection. And that's just two. I could go on ;)

Clive Owen in anything. He's just so wooden! And he can't do accents :D

Kate Beckinsale in just about anything, but especially in The Aviator. Scarily she was quite good in Much Ado About Nothing.

I was also going to say Halle Berry in Monsters Ball, but then I just thought, "no, in everything". She makes me cringe. I don't think she can act at all.

Then there's Ewan McGregor and Samuel L. Jackson in the last three Star Wars movies.

Keanu Reeves is another. Was terrible in Bram Stoker's Dracula - double whammy! Keanu AND Wynona in the one movie! :D And in Much Ado About Nothing. And a lot more.

On and there's Bill Nighy who's just the same in everything. All Bill Nighy-like and seemingly unable to act a part or character. He kind of ruined Underworld for me, once I'd got past hating Kate Beckinsale. And I wasn't keen on his character in Enduring Love and I'd rather he hadn't been in The Constant Gardener which is one of the best films of all time. I can ignore him in it though as he plays a **** :D

Keanu Reeves killed The Matrix. And stunk up Dracula (although that was pretty misguided anyway). He is truly awful.

What he said.

(Although to be fair J&SBSB was lousy anyway)

The very thought of Andi MacDowell in anything makes me cringe. It's a bloody good job Hugh Grant was excellent in Four Weddings and everyone went crazy over him, otherwise it would have bombed and been classified as a piece of crap due to her 'acting'. It's like she's never in a scene, always just being Andi MacDowell pretending to be in a scene.
