GOOD covers of BAD songs

Call Me done by Cadaveria - absolutely breath taking and very originally done even though it stays true to the original song. Its heavy though and not for the squemish but at the same time has that classic iconic sound of the original.
 
drain sth covered motorhead's ace of spades, and made it better than the original (imo) and judas priest covered fleetwood mac's green manalishi much better than the original. in both cases the original wasn't awful but the cover pwned
 
I just find it curious that someone covered Hogweed by genesis.... very unlikely cover candidate... is there some way you could send me that cover, i am more than just a bit curious to see how it sounRAB..
 
I'm not a huge fan of that MM song but that version doesn't sound like much of an improvement to me. It's pretty annoying actually. But I think all you're trying to say is that you hate the song and anything is better than the original. Right? ;)
 
Read the lyrics. The song is about a girl who can't talk to her boyfriend because she's too busy drinking and dancing in a club with other guys. That sounRAB pretty slutty to me.

Pomplamoose's version doesn't take itself too seriously. It's just as fun, and it's a welcome clever interpretation of a song dealing with otherwise very boring themes so prevalent in pop music these days.

Foo Fighters did a version of Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street". That song is just too smooth and the Foofies turned it into something rocking like they always do.
