GOOD covers of BAD songs

Perhaps a bit middle of the road, but certainly not BAD. Aside from Patton's voice which I love, I don't think the song is different enough to make it that much better than the original. I like both.

They're still lame song lyrics regardless of how you dress them up, it won't make them any better. Just the same way you can use a generic riff & have 100 guitars playing it, it's still a generic riff.

Arrangement and production polish things off, they don't make the song.

Oh, I just thought of another one, Laibach's cover of "Live is Life" by Opus.

Here's the original:

And Laibach's infinitely better fascist marching tune cover of it:

actually, Superstar was a cover by the Carpenters.

It's originally done by Delaney and Bonnie & FrienRAB, and their version is SICK - Clapton on guitar, Carl Radle on bass, Jim Gordon on drums...Bobby Keys and Jim Price on horns...and it was titled (Groupie) Superstar.

So it would be a good song that got covered horribly and then reclaimed.
