good clamshell, lots of options, but wont break the bank?

ok i just bought the brand new nec L1 e949 to replace my broken motorola v360. i like the 360 alot but wanted to try something new. i really dont care for this nec phone at all. it looks great, but i surely dont like the texting aspect of it. i do a lot of texting and i just cant seem to get use to this phone, and dont really care much for the menus and what not.
basically the two phones im looking at right now is the motorola E1070, and the nokia 6131. is there anyone with experience with either or both? i was also looking at the nokia n71, but i dont want to pay that much $ for something im not positive ill like. my wife has a samsung t809 that i like a lot (as far as options go) but i just like clamshell / flip phones better over sliders.
some help on this decision would be great.

ps... anyone want to buy this sexy looking brand new nec phone or trade would be nice
 
Check out the link in my sig to my Nokia 6131 review.

Phone has good audio, nice volume, good design, but the signal is just too bouncy and for some reason I lose reception completely whenever I am typing a text message. I have to walk around to find a signal to send it.

I would recommend the motorola pebl over the 6131 actually.
 
how is the e1070 compared to the pebl?
im more interested in that one over the pebl, but the 6131 really has my interest too.
im familiar with motorola UI, but ive heard nokias UI is much better...
any opinions of the E1070?
