Good, cheap testing kits for fresh water tanks?

I got a betta fish about 2 weeks ago. So far, everything has been going fine, but within the last few days he's started twitching. He appears to be physically fine (doesn't look like he has ich or velvet from what I can tell), and he's not rubbing against anything in the tank, so I'm assuming it's something with the water. I use tap water conditioned with Nutrafin Betta Plus conditioner, and allow the water to sit for 24 hours before doing the actual water change. Can anybody recommend a reliable, affordable water testing kit (I'm in college and on a VERY tight budget), and where I can get it? Thanks!

A basic API test kit will be sufficient, those cost around $15-$20 and you can buy one at your local petsmart. Cheers Max

If you buy separate kits (1 for each test) it gets very expensive. If you buy 5-in-1 or 6-in-1 tests, they'll run anywhere $10-$20. Your best bet would be to get the API Master Test Kit. It's $23 or $33 but it lasts for months and they're probably the most accurate tests. Both petsmart and petco sell them. They're cheaper at petco, though. Especially if you order them online.
