Good CA state parks to tent camp at?

Preferably Northern, CA because I live near Sacramento. We want a lake and lots of woods. Has to be a state park because I get in for free there.....
I should mention that I have a wife and two toddlers in tow. And my wife insists on toilets, lol.

And Disneyland is about 12 hours away from me and not a campground.....
 
What I would do is get online and check the Californina Parks and Wildlife site. Thats what I do in Texas - they have a lot of information including prices, times, and facilities.
