try reading the bluford series..
they are some of all kinds of teens: blacks, whites, latinos, etc..

i absolutely love them.

you absolutely have to read both "Hunger Games", and it's sequel "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins. i read the both of them cover to cover the second i started reading, and am currently awaiting the 3rd and final book in the trio. these books are amazing, and are by far my favorites.
