My host mum told me to read this book. It's amazing. I just don't understand how Americans could believe in this glorious cause (The confederacy). It kind of upsets me how they make the slaves seem so happy to work for there white masters. It's sad. What do you think? Is slavery to most Americans a shameful Past?

I totally agree, but this country is racist as hell so its not surprising.
