i now have a little over 20 young goldfish, i got some small pellets for them but they don't seem to be eating...should i give them flakes instead?

yes... if they don't eat pellets, give them flakes...buy the brand that is like tropical flakes... it helps their color...

Your fish might just be waiting for the pellets to go soft as they are easier for them to eat. But if its not that then i would feed them flakes instead.

20 goldfish? How big is your aquarium? It better be about 250 gallons. My recommendation is to have 10 gallons per goldfish. They are probably so stressed out from ammonia and being cramped that they won't eat!
