Going to the movies

So, whenever I come to visit there, I'm not gonna go watch a movie(in the theaters) that's for sure. Over here as soon as the lights dim down all the talk stops and everyone sits down properly etc. I'd propably go nuts if I'd had to sit infront of a seatkicker or a obnoxious teenager who can't keep her mouth shut.
 
You forget, Mags went to see this movie at a busy scheduled time.

I've only been once to a movie where people were standing and where people were incosiderate.

All other times, it's been pretty empty, or everyone's been well behaved.
 
I only had one problem finding a seat at a theater. I decided to try to go to a premier with someone, and it's odd that when you have two people looking for a seat in a crowded theater, there are only scattered singles. When you have three, there are plentiful doubles, but no trips. Annoying.

As for bad movie theater behavior, there was only one time that the theater had to pull out the big guns. It was a "horror" movie from 2005 or 2006 about a babysitter and the killer was 'ZOMG, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE, HE'S CALLING FROM INSIDE!' I don't remember the name of it, but a rather large percentage of people who bought tickets to this particular showing were teenagers, and so they had several staff members in the theater shooshing anyone who caused a disruption and ready to eject them from the theater. Good move on their part. They even told us at the window that a bunch of kids bought tickets to the movie, and that they would refund us our money if it got too out of hand.
 
I've probably read The Vampire Lestat 30+ times. He embodies the scary, morally-skewed, monstrous side of vampires as well as the romantic and strangely erotic. Anne Rice has a way of writing intelligently yet still making her books accessible to pretty much any somewhat literate person willing to open them up.

The Twilight series is pretty much an elaborate piece of fan-fiction that exalts an abusive boyfriend (Edward) and his weak female counterpart (Bella) as the ideal couple. Psh.

Anyway, I'm sorry your movie experience was so sucky. Though I agree with most of the responses that it's to be expected at the midnight premiere of a teen flick. A lot of those girls probably felt super cool staying up so late.
 
I read Anne Rice's "Christ the Lord" about Jesus as a child. It was actually quite entertaining, the middle of the book was mostly just description but the overall story did wow me. Couldn't believe this lady had written vampire books, then turned to Jesus books, but it was still worth the read. :)
 
Yeah, it's kind of weird. She wrote erotica, a shitload of vampire books (with homoerotic subtext galore), and then found Jesus and starting writing about, uh...Jesus. Of course, there was always a lot of religious talk in The Vampire Chronicles, simply 'cause she'd explore what being immortal would do to your view of God.
 
So I caved. I went and saw New Moon last night at the 11:50pm showing. It was fairly packed, but the theater employees were trying to find seats for people who wanted to sit together, and asking people to make room. It wasn't a bad experience. There were points in the movie where everybody in the theater laughed out loud, or simultaneously ohh'd and aww'd at half naked Jacob Black, but other than that I can't really complain about the other customers.

Now I will say, New Moon the book was my least favorite, and I think it will be on par with my movie experience. Dakota Fanning looked creepy, but as soon as she opened her mouth and spoke, I knew she wasn't a good Jane.

Which makes it that much worse that he dissed Twilight. The end.

Steven King is pretty highly regarded when it comes to his influence in the writing world. He has achieved many awards, praise, etc from some very respected sources. I would say; he knows what he is talking about. Much better than you anyways.
 
Says the guy who uses the word "anyways" as if it's proper English.

Honestly, I don't go to see movies often because for the most part, people are inconsiderate in the theater no matter what showing or movie you go to see. (In my area anyway.) I usually do my best to ignore it, but this was above and beyond being tollerated. I don't care what movie you see or what showing you go to, kicking seats and being loud are never acceptable in a theater. You wouldn't go to a live show and act that way.
 
I was unaware English class was in session. The truth hurts. It is pretty petty to jump on the grammar bandwagon. Oh, I that is right the books you follow are complete garbage and I pointed that out. You are forgiven.

This type of behavior should never be tolerated. (Hey look I spelled the word correctly) The movie theaters in my area are full of the same type of people. Shouting, seat kicking imbeciles that have no respect for anyone else trying to enjoy a movie. The best time to go is early in the day during the week when no one is present.
