Going to see Harry Potter at Midnight

Okay, I don't like Harry Potter. I don't read the books and I hadn't seen the movies. But, my friend thought I would want to go see it at midnight, so he bought me a ticket without asking, and asked me to pay him back. I had the money so I did, and I figured I had a ticket, so I'd go, since it seemed like fun. 7 of my closest friends seeing a movie at midnight, alright, sounds cool.

And it was, eventually. But there was a host of problems, involving who the hell was going to be driving, etc. Eventually, I got picked up from my friend's house. The girl driving ran to her car, got in, and locked the doors, so we sat on top of the car and she drove around with us on top for a bit before we got in. Then we got lost a few times trying to pick somebody else up, and we drove around with music blasting. Finally we got it all straight and drove to the movies, we had two cars, and we were driving side-by-side yelling stuff at each other and making faces and listening to music too loud. We came to a stop light, with the body panels of the car rattling since the music was so loud, and screaming between cars over the music, when a cop car pulled up behind us. We didn't notice, but when we did, somebody cut the music right as somebody yelled "SHIT, IT'S A COP!" So, we are the only three cars on the road, previously there was laughter, loud music, and screaming, followed by complete silence except an exlcamation of "SHIT, IT'S A COP!" We were breaking about 5 laws at once, but the cop turned right and we all were releived.

So, we get to the movies, and there's a line so long that it goes out of the theater and down the street. We get in the line, wait for about half an hour while the two drivers go to pick up more people, and they're not back when the theater opens up an hour early and people start filing in. We're like "shit!" We sit down and the movie starts, and once again we're like "shit!" because we're still missing people. 5 to 10 minutes later we find out that we are in the wrong theater, a showing of the movie an hour earlier, we couldn't tell because the line to the theater was too far away, we had just asked if people were in line for Harry Potter. So, we go get into the new line.

We see a bunch of people we know, and we make fun of some bros (I don't know if anybody knows what bros are, I will clarify if neccessary). We finally get into the movie, and make fun of all of the previews. The girl next to me (who is annoying) falls asleep on me, and I am annoyed. My best friend eats all of his gummy bears before the movie starts, and I call him fat. The movie starts, and during the course of it, I flirt a little too much with a girl I used to like (and who knows I used to like her), but I don't like anymore. Oops. That's gonna be awkward eventually.

The movie ends, I didn't understand it since I didn't read the book. We get out of the movie and dick around, yell stuff, and then figure out we are the only ones in the mall at 3:30AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning. We take advantage of this by dicking around more and yelling stuff, until we come to the conclusion that if a cop sees us, we're freaking busted. So, we sit down and relax until the cars come back from taking other people home, and then we do the whole getting lost thing again.

I go home and go to sleep, and woke up today at 5:00PM with a fever.

I basically blew two days of my weekend on this :D

WOW that was a long post. So asking you if the movie was good or not is a moot point. i am not so much of a geek that I read all the books but when the movies come to cable I watch them with my nieces they like that shit. Yeah the last midnight show i went to was Troy it was about the same experience as you had.

from what i've heard, this potter is the best one yet. haven't seen it, but might consider now. also, those cops wont do so much if it's just a bunch of people screaming between cars. they are really lazy after all (they like the big fish).

I really didn't like this new movie..because it lacked so many things..important ones too..but greatly done although  but it would be better as a tv serie..in my opinion..then all the cool stuff could appear on tv too :happysad:

The most annoying thing is people clapping during a movie... I saw it at 3:30 on Friday... First showing because our theatre is gay...

At all the "good" scenes, people clapped. People clapped AFTER THE FUCKING MOVIE.
It's not a play, people. Its a movie. Jesus christ.

Overall I enjoyed it... I, too, don't like Harry Potter, but my girlfriend is in love with it ... Which made me liable to go to the "Midnight Party" for the new book, and actually get a copy to read it with her... Best week ever - Reading a book with my girlfriend - just sitting there not saying anything and reading... heh :)

I agree. It's really annoying with people that clap during a movie or after a movie, or clapping to anything having to do with a movie for that matter (and the same with people clapping in a airplane after a succesful landing or take off) :thumbsdn:

But back to the movie, I'm really not that big a fan of Harry Potter, to be honest I don't like it all. But my gf and my little brother does, so I saw it today. It wasn't that bad, but i didn't like it that much either, but my mom paid so what the hell. And oh, a good thing was that the audience only clapped once during the movie...

I'm not going to be afraid to say I like the goddamn book like you people.

The movie sucked ass, by far the worst one. Lacked so much shit in it,

Where was Winky?
Where was Bagman?
Why was Crouch even in the beginning?
Why was Ron "funny"?

This list could go on for days.

Movie sucked.

People clapping during a movie is almost as annoying as all the preteen girls going "ooh, he's sooooooooo hottttttttttt" whenever legolas appears on the screen when I watched LOTR.

Legolas isn't hot. He's an ugly little fuck. And, personally, I don't think Orlando Bloom's a very good actor.

But that's just my worthless opinion..

Back on topic... I'll probably go to see that movie when it gets here in a month or two.:happysad:

My brother wants to go so he's going to call up a few people and we're gonna have a great time.

Watching a movie with the 17-year old group is always quite entertaining, even though I am 3 years older.

I don't understand that clapping either..I would if someone from the movie would be there in the movietheather watching the movie..then I would understand..but not oterwise..

and good idea ;) I'm waiting for the fifth to come out in swedish (ive read the others in swedish so I have to continue doing that...) But I like when you read out loud for one another... :happysad:

People actually fucking do that. Its incrredibly stupid. is their job to do that....its not something thats frikkin amazing and hasnt been done before.

back to topic:
My friends told me that the movie sucked ass, but as usual gf is a hp nut. So i have to go for the imax digital movie experience. WTF! i liked the book, but i hated ALL the movies. The movies ruined my imagination, ron is a idiot in the movie:thumbsdn:, so is harry:thumbsdn: . Hermione is hot:thumbsup: and so is cho.

the only movie series that were converted from books that is like was the lord of the rings. That movie was amazingly done.
HP movies suck ass, balls, nuts, tits etc etc.

oooh oooooh! do you know that dumbeldore dies?
oops:tongue:

U know hun, we can arrange that. Like me reading out loud to you. Altough you know it won't be for free... *cough* blowjob *cough* ;)

Yeah it is, but it's usually some group or school class or some other annoying thing... But that's waaay off topic.

Hmm wtf? Are we thinking about the same person here? (finding it difficult keeping track of all names)

Noooooo, you ruined it all. Now there's no use reading the books. Damn you!
