Amber's going to teach me to jump on Tango in April. I haven't ever jumped before. I'm going to be riding Tango since Pistachio can't jump due to a crack in her hoof.

I can do two-point and all four gaits. I was planning on doing flat work on day and getting used to him and his gaits and stuff and then the next day trying to jump. Amber was thinking of leading me over the jumps the first time, or just jogging next to us (him at a trot) for the first couple times to get used to it. Then longeing me over the jumps. Then if I do okay at that letting me do it on my own.

The jumps aren't going to be anything more then one foot cross rails.

Tips, please? :)
Excuse me Mulewrangler? In case you didn't notice, this is HAFLINGER ACRE'S (aka Kelsea, me) real account. No trolling whatsoever.

And Tango is in perfect shape, and 9 years old. It's Pistachio who's out of shape at the moment.

Oh and second answerer, it's just an introduction to jumping for now until my real instructor gets a proper horse to train me.
It's amazing how you guys fail to realize this is my real account, I don't let her hack my account...

and Mulewrangler, Amber is currently training Tango in dressage and jumping. Alternating. That doesn't seem flaky to me?
@Kelsie I understand. I was going to learn on Pistachio to be safe, but she is currently in injury status.

The only reason we thought of this is because I've never jumped, only because my instructor doesn't have a horse who is trained in it.
Mulewrangler,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
my response^^^
Ehawlz, that actually is a good idea. My grandparents live 30 mins away from Amber, so when we visit this April I'm going to meet Amber. And meeting her at her stables and taking one jumping lesson there sounds like fun!
