going to jail? please help?

my friend got arrested for trespassing in an adandoned house a few months ago and he has already went to court for it and all he got was fines. now he has to go again cuhs from being arrested was violation of probation. but i think if he was gonna go to jail he would have alrady went right? what do you thinks gonna happen?? hes 18 and lives in new jersey
 
No, he would have not necessarily went to jail already. The first time he went to court on the trespass was for the trespass case. By being found guilty of that (or being arrested for it) he apparently violated his probation on an older case. That requires a probation revocation hearing on the old case. So, the judge on his old case could revoke his probation and order him to serve his original suspended sentence (on his old case).
