Unfortunately my current employer have cut some hours and lay off a few employees and now I am going thru a difficult situation in life for the reason that I have to go by priorities on my bills such as rent, car insurance & fuel, groceries, phone, apartment rent and clothes for 2 children. There was a time when I was able to pay for everything including my student loan, credit card, car payment bills, now its not that easy I have look for a second and a part time job however it seems that I am lucky to even have my current job.
My question is, since I am behind and already owe 2 student loans, 1 credit card, 1 car repossession and about to go to court because a bill collector is suing me, can my wages be garnish from more than one bill collector at the same time? Or do you have any advice for me? All answers are very appreciated… thanks

Yes, your wages can be garnished up to 25% total for multiple debtors. In addition, your tax refunds can be taken if your student loan goes into default.

Cancel the phone and hit the local food banks to help out on groceries. In addition, if you are now 130% below the poverty level you can apply for food stamps. Children's clothing can be purchased at thrift stores and yard sales for cheap prices (and good condition). You may need to look at a cheaper place to live because you can't afford what you have right now. Keep looking for a second job, or another full-time job to replace the one you have now. In addition, you may look at selling the vehicle (if you can get enough to cover what you owe) and taking public transportation until you get yourself out of some of this debt... then, save up and purchase a cheap, used car with cash. Good luck... be sure to see any other places that you could possibly cut down. Maybe to save on gas only use the car to go to and from work... no extra activities or trips right now.
