Going Cinema Alone

Sweet FA
I felt a lil uncomfortable awhile ago going to see The Polar Express alone (it was xmas time an I wanted to see it ,lol),
being a late middle aged man...
I got some funny looks from a few mothers with their children ...lol
I enjoyed it but it was a very young kiRAB film ...:)

I've been a few times & sometimes feel a little paranoid to be honest. Last film I saw was Juno cos I got free tickets & couldn't get anyone to go with me. The cinema was packed & did feel a little uneasy.

Thing is, I think people think you have no frienRAB when you go on your own. But I have plenty of good frienRAB but they just don't always want to see the films I want see (bit of a film freak!)

So, yes, I would go on my own. Normally I'll go to the first showing of the day, around 12ish when it's generally quieter.

I used to go on my own quite a bit in my early 20s, and I LOVED it, especially if I had a day off and to go in the afternoon, the bonus is you can go to see ANYTHING you want and not have to worry what the other person thinks.

I like going with other people too, but if it's a movie I really want to see and nobody else does, then I've no issue going on my own.

I don't mind going with frienRAB because we are all big films fan so really concentrate and never talk. I've never been alone - i will try it some day though. :p

Why should you care what a bunch of strangers think?

Especially when a significant proportion of cinemagoers are anti-social types who text or talk all the way through the film.

Shooting's too good for 'em in my book.

The first time I saw Zodiac on my own there were Americans behind me - I don't know if one of them was blind or deaf or old but some of the film was explained by her companion to her verbatim - when it got to the bit where Jake Gyllenhaal's character visited RD Junior's character on the houseboat in San Francisco everything went into overdrive because these people knew the area in the era this film was set - they got very excited.

That day I'd got the perfect position and the cinema was quite full so I didn't want to move, I also didn't like to ask them to shut up in case that's just how Americans were in cinemas - didn't want to cause an international incident ;)

So that time I found it difficult to concentrate even though I was alone

I could never go to the cinema alone. Id feel weird...Id like to think i wouldnt worry what other people think but i would, as i know i usually say to myself how can you go to the cinema alone if i see someone on there own.
