Going Cinema Alone

Its much better alone as you don't have to please anyone but yourself with your film choice plus if you go to an early screening, you can have the whole screen to yourself!!!

(Although I can see a few of the ladies not being so keen on doing it)

Soo, how many people here have been to see a film at the cinemas on their own?

I was just wondering what it's like, because many times I've considered it because when i'm with my frienRAB I just get distracted and don't focus on the film.

Does it help? :p

I've been a handful of times on my own. Once you get over the slight paranoia of doing it, it's no big deal really. I often notice people scattered about sat on their own, especially for 'serious' films.

I go to the cinema on my own all the time. I don't see anything wrong with it.

I have an unlimited card so often just pop in when I have a break between lectures or something. I usually go during the day and there's often quite a few people there on their own. It's not as if people will be looking at me thinking 'OMG loner!!!' and if they are I don't really care.

I prefer going on my own, stops me being distracted by people next to me.

I always used to wait until someone or a group of us wanted to go and see something before pitching up at the cinema. Consequently, I found I was either missing out on films I wanted to see or I was accompanying my mates to see films I had little interest in. Something had to give.

It took me a while to pluck up the courage to go on my own but now I reckon I go on my own more than I do accompanied.

The prospect of doing it's quite scary; the actual doing is fine. I don't feel weird at all.

I always go on my own on a tuesday afternoon,
its quiet sometimes just the projectionist an myself ,I imagine myself as the Director getting the first showing ,lol

I always thought there was nothing worse than going to the cinema alone, but then I did it and it wasn't so bad. I didn't feel as paranoid as I thought I might, and I wasn't the only one alone there either.

If there's a film I want to see, but noone to go with, I would definitely go alone again :D.

I only go on my own if i have to, if it's a film no one else wants to go and see.

For example, on July 26th last year, i went on holiday for two weeks. This was the day before the simpsons movie came out. By the time i got back everyone else had seen it, and they didn't want to spend another tenner on going to see it!

But i like going to the cinema with people, cos' then you can talk about it at the end.

i go on my own loaRAB - lots of people do. it never crosses my mind what people i dont know will think. i doubt anyone gives it a second thought to be honest

I go 2 or 3 times a week on my own and loaRAB of other people come in on their own too.

Watching a film isn't a group activity - not unless you're there to annoy people trying to watch the film - so what's the big deal?

Last film I saw when I went to the Cinema alone was Scream 3 (in 2000) simply because I was such a fan af the previous two and was off work and couldn't wait :p

What a let down.

I like to fall into the directors art .....maybe a bit deep

but to be honest my wife likes to *graze* when I take her an she spoils it for me ;)

I've been on my own a few times, felt awkward the first time but not since then.
It's nice being able to concentrate on the film. Different people have different tastes to me anyway. If I want to see a slightly girly film it's nice being able to watch it without a male mumbling 'this is rubbish' all the way through the film. You're all in the dark anyway, who cares. You wouldn't let the fact you were on your own stop you buying lunch in a cafe,, why should you let it stop you seeing a film?

I go on my own all the time, I cannot comprehend why someone would even think twice about going on their own.

Last thing I saw was The Cottage (which was rubbish).
