God damnit!

It's April 19, and there is approximately two inches of snow on the ground. As if this weren't enough bullshittery, the our heater's pilot light decided to go out. And we can't get to it because of the way the closet is set up.

I'm freezing my ass off. God damnit, I hate Wyoming so much sometimes.

You'd think there has to be a way to access the pilot light... how was it lit in the first place? Did ya'll add something to the closet to make the heater panel inaccessible?

You might want to find some way to get that lit. I've had a small explosion happen to me once cause the pilot vent just kept dumping gas in a small area. You can't reach it in anyway?

Must be possible to get in there! Alot of furnaces have lighting instructions inside the front cover, and it's quite simple.

As for having the pilot vent keep dumping gas after the flame is out... I dunno. Alot of furnaces will sense that the pilot is out, and shut off the gas so there isn't any problems.

Yeah, and allot of furnaces are set up to easily relight the pilot light. The pilot light should always be on unless there is a loss of fuel pressure. Ether the gas was turned off, or it got clogged. Stupid physics.

Just let the gas run for 5-10 min and then set a lighter at the base. It should light the pilot and give a nifty show. ;)

We got it fixed. Hurrah.

It's not the heater itself that was hindering getting to the pilot light, it was some weird panel in front of the heater in the closet. We didn't do anything to it... I presume it was like that before we moved in. This apartment is so weird anyway.

It's really not bad. We're moving back to California once the husbot gets out of the Air Force, but I could be happy living here for the next five years. (:
